Timelab Royal Institution 2002

Science meets arts in a new installation, inspired by Einstein and Kandinsky depicting time as volume in a visually spectacular display at the Royal Institution....(press-release RI 11/03/2002).

The visitor penetrates time by entering the installation. The volume of the installation represents the time elapsed since the big bang (15 billion years). Smaller periods of time are represented by smaller volumes, as embodied in the time shapes.
The main theme of this sculpture – installation is time. All shapes contain, and in fact, are time. The relation of the shapes to each other is the relation of periods of time. By walking through the display the visitor travels through time.
