The Art of Stereo Photography
In Stereo Photography the image subject is captured from two different camera positions simultaneously. The depth information is contained in the difference between the two images.
Observe carefully the two Stonehenge images above. The stones appear slightly shifted against each other : this is the parallax effect containing the depth information.
Though conceptually simple good stereo images are notoriously difficult to capture. This is because nearby and far away objects must be in a particular distance relation to each other.
A more technical presentation is soon forthcoming here.
Commercial and artistic Stereo Photography by Frank Pohlmann, founder of 21.Horizon, have previously been exhibited at venues including Whitchapel Art Gallery, the Space Bar in Canary Wharf, Candid Arts in Islington and at trade fairs at Kensington/Olympia.
